The State of the Shared Hosting Industry
Sunday, March 1st, 2026

Over the past decade, shared web hosting prices have steadily declined as hardware became faster and more affordable. Improvements in processing power, storage capacity, and system architecture have helped drive down costs while delivering better performance.

However, over the past several years, that pattern has shifted.

The cost of essential server components — including RAM and NVMe storage — has risen significantly. In some cases, hardware pricing is nearly double what it was just two years ago.

At the same time, the software licenses required to operate shared hosting platforms have increased sharply and continue to trend upward.

What this means for BlazingHost — and for the industry as a whole — is that pricing has begun to stabilize and, in some cases, rise modestly.

We at BlazingHost have absorbed the majority of these increased costs. We’ve optimized infrastructure, adjusted internal operations, and worked hard behind the scenes to avoid passing those increases on to our customers.

After absorbing these increases for several years, we have reached a point where continuing to do so would require compromising the level of performance and reliability you expect from BlazingHost.

Beginning in 2026, we will be implementing pricing adjustments across select accounts. Each account will be reviewed individually, and no customer will see an increase greater than 20% of their current rate. Many accounts will see adjustments below this maximum.

We understand that many everyday expenses — from food and fuel to healthcare — have increased in recent years. We do not take this decision lightly. Our goal remains the same as it has always been: to provide reliable, high-quality hosting at the most reasonable price possible.

We sincerely appreciate your continued trust in BlazingHost and look forward to continuing to serve you.
